About Dr. Zubin Dev Sharma

• Dr. Zubin Dev Sharma is a Medical Gastroenterologist and Neurogastroenterologist with over 19 years of experience.
• With experience in advanced gastroenterology diagnostics and treatment, he is widely recognized as one of India’s leading experts in GI motility and neurogastroenterology.
• His expertise encompasses functional gastrointestinal disorders, IBS, GERD, dysmotility syndromes, functional dyspepsia, esophageal disorders, anorectal dysfunctions, chronic constipation, and gut-brain axis disorders.
• He completed his MBBS from Maharashtra University of Health Sciences in 2009 and went on to pursue his MD in General Medicine at Dr. D.Y. Patil University, Pune, where he graduated as a Gold Medalist.
• Dr. Sharma then completed his DNB in Gastroenterology in 2016 from the National Board of Examinations, securing the prestigious National Gold Medal in DNB Gastroenterology.
• He further enhanced his medical management and institutional capability by completing an MBA in Health Systems from BITS Pilani.
• Dr. Sharma has played an instrumental role in pioneering GI motility diagnostics in India.
• He previously served as the In-Charge of the GI Physiology Lab at Medanta - The Medicity, where he helped build one of the most advanced motility testing facilities in India.
• At Fortis, he currently leads the Neuro-Gastro Physiology services and is among the very few specialists in the country skilled in performing complex motility measurements such as antro-duodenal and colonic manometry, technologies that he helped introduce in North India.
• Dr. Sharma routinely performs esophageal manometry, anorectal manometry, 24-hour pH impedance studies, antro-duodenal manometry, colonic manometry, and other advanced assessments of gut neuromuscular function.
• He has also undergone international training in Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS) under the World Endoscopy Organization (WEO) WISE program, and at Kitasato University, Tokyo, Japan.
• As a prolific academic, he has authored more than 40 research publications, clinical guidelines, review papers, and textbook chapters that have been published in leading national and international medical journals.
• Dr. Sharma is frequently invited as a guest faculty and speaker at major national gastroenterology and endoscopy conferences, including ENDOCON, IPBC, EPL, India Live, and others.
• He has also contributed to establishing GI Motility Labs across India, including at King George’s Medical University (Lucknow) and Apollo Bhopal, thereby expanding access to neurogastroenterology services in multiple regions.
• His leadership extends beyond clinical practice through his role as Treasurer of the Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopists of India (SGEI) from 2021 to 2024.
