About Dr. Gautham Krishnamurthy

• Dr. Gautham Krishnamurthy is a highly accomplished Surgical Gastroenterologist and GI Oncologist with more than 12 years of surgical experience.
• His areas of special interest include chronic pancreatitis, surgical nutrition, complex laparoscopic cholecystectomy, laparoscopic hernia surgeries, and minimally invasive cancer surgery (laparoscopic and robotic techniques).
• He completed his MBBS from Madras Medical College, followed by MS in General Surgery from Stanley Medical College, Chennai, and later obtained his super-specialization (MCh) in Surgical Gastroenterology and GI Oncology from PGIMER, Chandigarh, one of the premier institutes in India.
• In recognition of his academic and professional excellence, Dr. Gautham was elected as a Member of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2014 (MRCS Ed.).
• Dr. Gautham has honed his expertise through training and clinical exposure at Cancer Institute, Adyar, GEM Hospital, Coimbatore, and SIMS Hospital, Chennai.
• A keen academician and researcher, he has authored over 30 publications in reputed national and international journals and contributed 3 surgical book chapters.
• His research contributions particularly focus on pancreatic adenocarcinoma, abdominal tuberculosis, and short bowel syndrome.
• Dr. Gautham is also actively involved in surgical education and mentoring, being a regular participant in national and international conferences.
• He is an Executive Committee Member (South Zone) of the International Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Association (IHPBA), Indian Chapter.
