About Dr. Vinod Raina

• Dr. Vinod Raina is one of the most experienced and respected Medical Oncologists in India, with over 40 years of clinical and academic excellence.
• He is highly skilled in treating a broad range of cancers, including breast, lung, gastrointestinal, urological, gynecological cancers, as well as lymphomas and myelomas.
• He pioneered the use of high-dose chemotherapy and was the first in India to perform a peripheral blood stem cell transplant.
• Dr. Raina completed his entire medical education at the prestigious All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi.
• He earned his MBBS, followed by an MD in Internal Medicine, and later pursued a DM in Medical Oncology from the same institute.
• To further enhance his expertise, Dr. Raina was awarded Fellowships from the Royal College of Physicians in London and Edinburgh.
• Before joining Fortis, Dr. Raina spent more than two decades at AIIMS, New Delhi, where he held key positions including Professor and Head of Medical Oncology and Head of Department of Oncology.
• During his tenure, he personally performed over 400 bone marrow and stem cell transplants, making him one of the most experienced transplant oncologists in the country.
• Dr. Raina has also been a passionate researcher and educator, serving as Principal Investigator in over 50 clinical trials and co-founding the INDOX Network, a multi-institutional cancer research platform.
• In the last 15 years, he has mentored more than 70 DM Medical Oncology residents, many of whom now lead cancer centers in India and abroad.
• Dr. Raina’s contributions include over 200 scientific publications and multiple honors for his leadership in advancing oncology care and research in India.
• Till now, he has authored over 200 research papers in leading national and international oncology journals.
