• Dr. Rohit Mehtani is among the select few DM-trained Hepatologists in India, with a distinguished career combining advanced clinical training, research, and academic contributions.
• Clinically, he specializes in the comprehensive management of liver and biliary tract disorders, including alcohol-related liver disease, hepatitis B and C, autoimmune hepatitis (AIH), non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), primary biliary cholangitis (PBC), primary sclerosing cholangitis (PSC), and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).
• He has a particular interest in acute liver failure, acute-on-chronic liver failure, and the management of liver diseases during pregnancy.
• As a certified Transplant Hepatologist, Dr. Mehtani is adept at optimizing patients before transplant, managing immunosuppression, and addressing complex post-transplant complications.
• He completed his MBBS from the University College of Medical Sciences and GTB Hospital, Delhi University (2009), followed by an MD in Medicine from MGM Medical College, Indore (2015).
• He then pursued his DM in Hepatology from the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education & Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh (2019), where he graduated as the batch topper in the DM exit exams.
• To further refine his expertise, he completed a Fellowship in Transplant Hepatology at Max Super Specialty Hospital, Saket, New Delhi (2022), where he was involved in the management of over 200 liver transplant recipients.
• Dr. Mehtani’s academic excellence has been recognized from his early years, winning first prize in the All India Physiology Quiz (2010) and being honored as the Best Postgraduate Resident in Medicine at MGM Medical College (2017).
• At PGIMER, he played a vital role in developing neuromonitoring protocols for liver disease patients in intensive care, which were later published in the prestigious Metabolic Brain Diseases journal.
• As an avid researcher and academician, Dr. Mehtani has authored over 30 publications and book chapters.
