About Dr. (prof) Meenakshi Yadav Dhar

• Dr. (Prof.) Meenakshi Yadav Dhar is a senior ophthalmic surgeon with over 30 years of rich clinical, surgical, and teaching experience.
• Her proficiency lies across subspecialties including cataract surgery, glaucoma, strabismus, neuro-ophthalmology, and paediatric ophthalmology.
• Dr. Meenakshi is widely respected for her expertise in advanced cataract techniques, including femtosecond cataract surgery, microincision cataract surgery (MICS), and phacoemulsification across all age groups, as well as her mastery of premium intraocular lens implantation (toric, multifocal, extended depth-of-focus lenses, scleral-fixated PCIOLs).
• In addition, she has a strong focus on paediatric ophthalmology, especially the management of congenital and childhood glaucoma, paediatric cataracts, refractive errors, and amblyopia.
• Her clinical acumen is complemented by her deep interest in neuro-ophthalmology, where she manages optic neuritis, multiple sclerosis-related visual issues, toxic neuropathies, paralytic squints, and visual pathway disorders related to cranial tumors.
• Dr. Meenakshi played a pivotal role in establishing the Department of Ophthalmology at Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS), Kochi, where she served as the founder Head of the department for over 20 years, from 1999.
