About Dr. Prashant Mehta

• Dr. Prashant Mehta is a highly accomplished Medical Oncologist and Bone Marrow Transplant Physician recognized for pioneering work in cellular therapy and bone marrow transplantation.
• He pursued his MBBS from Maulana Azad Medical College, Delhi (2006), followed by an MD in Medicine from Lady Hardinge Medical College, Delhi (2010).
• He then pursued his DM in Medical Oncology and Bone Marrow Transplantation at AIIMS, New Delhi (2014).
• To further strengthen his expertise in cellular therapies, Dr. Mehta undertook an advanced Fellowship in BMT and Cellular Therapy at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, Seattle, USA (2016).
• Dr. Mehta’s clinical expertise spans acute leukemias, lymphomas, multiple myeloma, chronic myeloid leukemia, sarcomas, lung cancer, ovarian cancer, and advanced head and neck cancers.
• He has performed the first Bone Marrow Transplant, the first Total Body Irradiation-based transplant, and the first MUD transplant in Faridabad.
• He also leads the cellular therapy and CAR-T program at Amrita, working closely with scientists and researchers to make cutting-edge therapies accessible in India.
• Dr. Mehta has a significant academic and research footprint, having authored over 60 publications and book chapters in reputed national and international journals.
• He is the Joint Editor and Web Editor of the Indian Journal of Medical and Paediatric Oncology (IJMPO) and has served as Principal Investigator for more than 20 clinical trials.
• His randomized trial on the dose of Cytarabine during consolidation in Acute Myeloid Leukemia was selected for oral presentation at ESMO Asia, Singapore.
• He is also a founding member of the “Science and Cost Cancer Consortium,” which develops scientific strategies to improve access to affordable cancer care in India.
• For his exceptional contributions, Dr. Mehta has received several awards, including the Prof. GS Bhattacharya Award for Best All-Rounder Oncologist in India (2021) from ICON and the Meghna Krishna Baweja Memorial Award for All-Round Excellence at MAMC.
