Dr. Pawan Rawal is a leading Gastroenterologist and Liver Transplant specialist with over 17 years of experience in treating gastrointestinal, hepatic, pancreatic, and biliary disorders.
He has successfully performed thousands of procedures, including upper GI endoscopies, colonoscopies, ERCPs, capsule endoscopies, enteroscopies, and EUS (Endoscopic Ultrasound).
He is especially skilled in advanced therapeutic procedures such as variceal band ligation, sclerotherapy, balloon and bougie dilation, glue injection for fundal varices, polypectomy, PEG tube placements, manometry, and endoscopic treatment of ulcers and gastrointestinal bleeding.
Dr. Rawal is also proficient in balloon placement for obesity management, enteral feeding access, and interventional EUS.
He completed his MBBS from PGIMS, Rohtak, in 1997, followed by MD in Internal Medicine from PGIMER, Chandigarh, in 2003, and went on to specialize in DM in Gastroenterology and Hepatology from the same institute in 2008.
His academic training at PGIMER, Chandigarh, laid the foundation for his excellence in the field.
Following his DM, Dr. Rawal remained at PGIMER to deepen his experience in clinical gastroenterology, hepatology, and transplant hepatology, gaining hands-on expertise in treating both adult and pediatric patients.
Dr. Rawal has a deep interest in academic research and teaching.
He has authored numerous original articles, case reports, review articles, and textbook chapters in both national and international publications.
