Dr. Atul Sharma is a leading senior consultant and clinical lead in Gastroenterology, widely recognized for his advanced expertise and more than 15 years of clinical excellence in digestive healthcare.
He has been at the forefront of modern gastroenterology with hands-on experience in cutting-edge techniques like POEM (Peroral Endoscopic Myotomy), ESD (Endoscopic Submucosal Dissection), ERCP, EUS-guided interventions, BRAVO pH monitoring, and third-space endoscopy.
He has introduced and successfully performed numerous advanced endoscopic treatments that were first of their kind in the Delhi-NCR region, such as biofeedback therapy for fecal evacuation disorder with a 100% success rate.
Dr. Sharma completed his MBBS from Government Medical College, Jammu, followed by an MD in Medicine at Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS).
His academic journey culminated with a DM in Gastroenterology & Hepatology from the prestigious Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGIMS), Lucknow.
To further refine his skills in interventional endoscopy, Dr. Sharma pursued an advanced fellowship (FAIGE) at the globally renowned Baldota Institute of Digestive Sciences (BIDS), Mumbai.
Prior to joining Artemis Hospital, Dr. Sharma served as the Head of the Gastroenterology and Hepatology Department at W-Pratiksha Hospital, Gurugram.
There, Dr. Sharma played a pioneering role in establishing advanced GI procedures, including ERCP, EUS, Esophageal and Anorectal Manometry, Colonic Transit Study, EMR/ESD, and POEM.
Academically inclined, Dr. Sharma has published numerous research papers in national and international journals, primarily focusing on luminal gastroenterology, motility disorders, and interventional endoscopy.
Dr. Sharma has also delivered lectures and presented clinical studies at various reputed conferences across India.
His commitment to medical education extends beyond patient care, as he has trained DNB super-specialty students and led several academic initiatives.
