• Dr. Umesh Nareppa is a distinguished Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgeon with a career marked by precision, innovation, and compassionate patient care.
• With more than 27 years of surgical experience, he stands as one of the leading figures in cardiac and thoracic surgery, performing some of the most intricate and life-saving procedures with exceptional outcomes.
• He gained in-depth exposure to state-of-the-art procedures such as Total Arterial Off-Pump Coronary Artery Bypass (OPCAB), Minimally Invasive and Keyhole Cardiac Surgery, Robot-Assisted and Hybrid Coronary Revascularization, Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR/TAVI), Heart Failure and Ventricular Assist Device (VAD) Surgery, Heart and Lung Transplantation, etc.
• In addition to these highly specialized surgeries, Dr. Umesh is adept at complex aortic surgeries, valve-sparing aortic root replacements, aneurysm repairs, congenital cardiac defect corrections, and redo-cardiac surgeries. • After completing his MBBS from Bangalore Medical College and Research Institute, Bangalore (1998), Dr. Umesh pursued his MS in General Surgery from Grant Medical College and Sir J.J. Hospital, Mumbai (2002).
• His passion for complex cardiac surgery led him to achieve his MCh in Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery from the same institution in 2006.
• Dr. Umesh completed a Fellowship in Adult Cardiac Surgery at Emory University, Atlanta, USA (2012), a globally acclaimed institution ranked among the top 10 cardiac surgery programs in the United States.
• He also underwent advanced training at St. Luke’s Episcopal Hospital/Texas Heart Institute, Houston, USA, a world leader in cardiovascular care under the legacy of Dr. Denton Cooley.
• Currently serving as the Chief of Cardiac Surgery, Dr. Umesh has been instrumental in developing and implementing modern surgical protocols, mentoring young surgeons, and introducing advanced technology into cardiac care systems.
• His leadership has helped build high-performing cardiac units equipped for round-the-clock emergency cardiac interventions, ECMO (Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation), and post-transplant critical care.
• In addition to his surgical expertise, Dr. Umesh is deeply involved in academic training and research.
