• Dr. Mohit Sharma is a leading Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon known for his expertise in complex reconstructive procedures using advanced microvascular techniques.
• After completing his MCh in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery from Safdarjung Hospital, Delhi University, in 2002, he joined Amrita Hospital, Kochi, where he has been serving for more than two decades.
• Dr. Sharma and his team established India’s first Vascularised Composite Allotransplantation (VCA) program in 2015, making history with the country’s first successful hand transplantation.
• Since then, under his leadership, Amrita Hospital has gained international recognition as one of the leading centres for hand transplantation, with one of the world’s largest case series from a single centre.
