• Dr. KSS Bhat is an eminent Cardiologist whose medical career has spanned more than 45 years of dedicated service, research, and teaching excellence.
• He provides comprehensive cardiac care with a focus on preventive cardiology, ischemic heart disease, heart failure, and hypertension management.
• A distinguished alumnus of Vikram University, Ujjain, Dr. Bhat completed his MBBS (1967), followed by an MD in General Medicine (1969) from the University of Delhi.
• He further earned a Diploma in Tuberculosis and Chest Diseases (DTCD) from the same university in 1976, and subsequently pursued advanced international training, becoming a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC), a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP), and a Fellow of the Indian College of Cardiology (FICC).
• With a keen interest in preventive and community cardiology, Dr. Bhat has played a pioneering role in shaping cardiac awareness and early disease detection initiatives in Karnataka.
• Dr. Bhat led the Bangalore Heart Project (1989) at Manipal Hospitals and introduced the first-ever week-long Preventive Cardiology Program for physicians and the public in 1991, significantly advancing public understanding of cardiovascular health.
• He is also a seasoned academic and mentor, having taught at prestigious national and international institutions, including the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi; HAL Hospital, Bengaluru; Otago Medical School (New Zealand); and Al-Fateh University Medical School (Libya).
